This journey starts with a visit to San Gimignano, a world-famous town located on a hilltop renowned for its towers, wonderful frescoes and many other valuable works of art. Here your guide will take you to the historical center where you'll have around 2 hours of free time to discover fascinating things.
Later, you'll spend half an hour at the hamlet of Monteriggioni, a charming medieval village enclosed by its walls. Short ride from Monteriggioni, you'll go to cozy winery, where you can relax and enjoy Chianti with its wine and typical products. Here you'll taste 3 fine wines and balsamic vinegar, while enjoying a 3-course lunch made of local products followed by "cantucci e vin santo". Next step - Siena, starting from the famous Basilica of San Domenico. Strolling along the narrow medieval streets of the city, passing through Piazza del Campo, Palazzo Pubblico, and Siena Cathedral.
Cathedral of Siena has a floor decorated with mosaics, Donatello's St. John the Baptist, the rose window by Duccio di Buoninsegna, the marble pulpit by Nicola Pisano. Here you'll also find a Piccolomini Library which kept a rich collection of manuscripts. Before returning to Florence, you'll also have some free time to admire the unique atmosphere of this amazing city.
