Retken kuvaus

Kyproksen myytit heräävät eloon tällä retkellä. Näet, missä legenda syntyi, vierailet Kourionin raunioilla, suuntaat Omodoksen kylään ja päätät päivän viininmaistajaisiin perheomisteisella viinitilalla. Eva, yksi paikallisoppaistamme, kertoo: "Kuljet historian, kulttuurin ja mytologian kerrosten läpi ja opit Afroditesta, rakkauden jumalattaresta, ja häneen liittyvistä rituaaleista, kasveista ja simpukoista."

Sukellat suoraan menneisyyteen, kun näet Petra tou Romioun, kalliomuodostelman, jossa paikallisen legendan mukaan jumalatar Afrodite syntyi. Historia saa konkreettisemman muodon Kourionissa, joka on yksi Kyproksen vaikuttavimmista arkeologisista kohteista. Vieraile roomalaisissa kylpylöissä ja kävele sen keskipisteeseen, kreikkalais-roomalaiseen teatteriin. Täällä pidetään yhä konsertteja. Seuraavaksi on vuorossa ristiretkeläisten rakentama Kolossi-linna, joka kuului Temppeliherrain ritarikunnalle 1300-luvulta lähtien.

Lounas nautitaan perheomisteisessa ravintolassa. Se on yhtä kuuluisa paikallisista raaka-aineista valmistetusta maalaisruoastaan kuin luonnonkauniista sijainnistaan kukkuloilla. Sen jälkeen suuntaamme vuorilla sijaitsevaan Omodosin kylään, jossa sinulla on vapaata aikaa kuljeskella bysanttilaisten rakennusten reunustamilla kapeilla mukulakivikaduilla. Great trip. Interesting stuff to look at. Great guide. Great driver. Good bus. Time on board not too long. Lots of variety. All good. I know that this was a wine trip but for us who have partners who are not wine drinkers, a beer option would be a good idea.

The tour was great and the guide was amazing and very informative. The travelling was super comfortable also and all the locations are worth seeing. The included lunch was very good, you all sit together as a group and many different plates of food. Its traditional Cyprus food so just be aware of that before you book this tour knowing full well you are a picky eater. They have vegetarian options too.
