Prahan linna, Tšekin tasavallan ikivanha symboli, sijaitsee linnavuoren päällä, ylpeänä Vltava-joen yllä ja se hallitsee Prahan kaupunkikuvaa. Linnalle on myönnetty lukuisia kunniatitteleitä: se on paitsi Unescon maailmanperintökohde myös Guinnessin ennätysten kirjan mukaan maailman suurin linnakompleksi.
Prahan linnan rakennutti noin vuonna 880 prinssi Borivoj. Sen keskeinen osa, Pyhän Vituksen katedraali, rakennettiin alkuperäisen rotundan paikalle, ja se toimi linnan pääkirkkona 1000-luvulta lähtien. Seuraavina vuosisatoina tehtiin joitakin toimenpiteitä arkkitehtonisen kokonaisuuden vahvistamiseksi, mutta vasta kuningas Kaarle IV:n aikana (1300-luvun puolivälissä) koko linna kunnostettiin ja laajennettiin.
Se oli Prahan linnan kukoistuksen aikaa, sillä silloin siitä Pyhän saksalais-roomalaisen keisarikunnan hallitsijan asuinpaikka. Ensimmäisen maailmansodan jälkeen palatsista tuli Tšekkoslovakian hallituksen toimipaikka, ja nykyään siellä asuu Tšekin tasavallan presidentti.
Mielenkiintoista on, että tämä arkkitehtuurin mestariteos ei edusta vain yhtä tyyliä: linnan rakennukset edustavat kaikkia viime vuosituhannen tyylejä aina 900-luvun roomalaistyylisistä rakennuksista 1300-luvun goottilaiseen arkkitehtuuriin.
Prahan linnan kohteisiin kuuluvat Pyhän Vituksen katedraali, romaaninen Pyhän Yrjön basilika, luostari sekä useita palatseja, puutarhoja ja torneja, joista suurin osa on avoinna matkailijoille. Jälkimmäinen kuulostaa melko yllättävältä, kun otetaan huomioon, että Prahan linna on Tšekin tasavallan presidentin virallinen asuinpaikka, mikä ei kuitenkaan näytä häiritsevän turistijoukkoja lainkaan.
Prahan linnassa on useita museoita, muun muassa Kansallisgalleria, Tšekin historialle omistettu näyttely, lelumuseo ja Rudolf II:n kokoelmiin perustuva kuvagalleria.
