Retken kuvaus

Kastelan lahden molemmin puolin sijaitsevat Trogir ja Split kertovat kahta erilaista tarinaa menneisyydestä. Split on vilkas kaupunki, joka on rakennettu Rooman keisarin palatsin ympärille, kun taas Trogir on keskiaikainen saarikaupunki. Molemmat kaupungit ovat Unescon maailmanperintökohteita.

Ensimmäisenä vierailet Splitissä, joka on Dalmatian rannikon vilkas keskus. Kaupungin ehdoton tähti on Rooman keisari Diocletianuksen palatsi 200-luvulta. Palatsi tunnetaan nykyään Splitin vanhan kaupungin alueena, ja sitä on käytetty jopa Game of Thrones -sarjan kuvauspaikkana! Vierailet kaksilla markkinoilla ja saat maistaa pikkupurtavia Mlinice Pantanassa ennen kuin matka jatkuu Trogiriin.

Trogir on täynnä keskiaikaisia palatseja sekä kirkkoja. Täältä löytyy muun muassa mahtava roomalais-goottilainen katedraali. Trogirin kapeat mukulakivikadut kätkevät vuosisatojen perinteitä.
