Turiajoen entiseen uomaan rakennettu viihdekompleksi on suurelta osin paikallisen arkkitehdin Santiago Calatravan käsialaa. Kuuden luunvalkoisen rakennuksen rykelmä tuo mieleen esihistoriallisen eläimen jättiläismäisen selkärangan, ja muotokieli näyttää samanaikaisesti muinaiselta ja rohkean futuristiselta. Vaikka paikalliset asukkaat alunperin kritisoivatkin kallista hanketta, kompleksista tuli sittemmin yksi Valencian rakastetuimmista nähtävyyksistä.
Kompleksi sisältää muun muassa 3D-elokuvateatterin (L’Hemisfèric), Euroopan suurimman yleisöakvaarion (L´Oceanográfic), interaktiivisen tiedemuseon (Museu de les Ciències Príncipe Felipe) ja oopperatalon (El Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia).
