Dogen palatsi toimi aikoinaan entisen Venetsian tasavallan valtionpäämiehen, eli dogen residenssinä.
Vuonna 1172 rakennettu palatsi muutti koko Pyhän Markuksen torin ulkoasua.
Virallisesti vuodesta 1923 museona toiminut palatsi on säilynyt hyvin historian saatossa, selättäen tulipalot ja tulvat.
Palatsi on sisustettu 1300-luvun veistoksin ja sen julkisivulta avautuu upeat näköalat laguunille.
Palatsin kuusi huonetta on Museo dell’Operan käytössä sisältäen venetsialaisia veistoksia.

“Good tour due mainly to our tour guide. We were expecting to visit all the places listed on the tour, not only from outside. We had to go the following day and pay a ticket to visit some places inside. A bit pricey but it's nice to visit a place without crowds especially in such a busy city.”
“Skip the line ticket is definitely worth it and walking over the bridge of sighs was a special experience. They should warn you though that there are steps to almost all the rooms, lots of levels and even more steps with quite an incline. However, the rooms are stunning and worth a visit.”
