The Natural History Museum is housed in the Fontego dei Turchi, and hosts various local scientific collections, from the Museo Correr, from the Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere e Arti and others.

Thanks to the donations and acquisitions during the years, the museum has been enriched with numerous and varied collections that span 700 million years.

There it is possible to admire zoological, entomological and botanical collections, fossils and anatomic preparations, as well as ethnographic collections and a library with over 40 thousand volumes.

visitors eligible for reduced entrance fees (children aged 6 to 14, students aged 15 to 25 with a valid student card, visitors over 65, holders of the Rolling Venice Card, holders of ISIC – International Student Identity Card) will need to pay their reduced entrance fee on-site

ATTENTION: please note that on some days between 18 April 2025 and 27 July 2025, every visitor to Venice is required to pay, directly to the City of Venice, a contribution to access, except for the different exclusions. For dates, payment methods, to benefit from exemptions, and for all related information, please check the official website for the Venice Access Fee "cda.ve.it". Please pay the Access Fee online before attending the tour
children aged 0 to 5 enter for free
opening hours from 10 am to 5 pm (last entrance at 4 pm) - closed on Mondays

any necessary documentation to prove your eligibility for free entrance, if applicable
