Retken kuvaus

Tutustu Kyproksen salaisuuksiin sekä maalla että merellä. Ensin vierailet maateitse kahdessa saaren kiehtovimmassa paikassa: Famagustan vanhassakaupungissa ja Varoshan ”aavekaupungissa”. Sen jälkeen lähdet merelle rentoutumaan mukavalla risteilyllä, joka suuntaa Siniselle laguunille.

Matkaamme maastoautolla ensin Famagustan kulttuurikeskukseen, jossa tutustut saaren historiaan. Sitten kuljet YK:n puskurivyöhykkeen läpi saaren pohjoisosaan – ohitat Varoshan, joka oli aikoinaan suosittu rantalomakohde.

Seuraavaksi suuntaamme Famagustan vanhaankaupunkiin, jossa voit tutkia kaupungin venetsialaisia muureja, raunioituneita kirkkoja ja moskeijaksi muutettua goottilaista katedraalia. Tutkimusretken päätteeksi on aika rentoutua risteilyllä Siniselle laguunille, jossa nautitaan lounasta veneellä ja ehditään uida, snorklata ja ottaa aurinkoa mielin määrin.

Fantastic trip, George Michael was our guide and he was fabulous, kind and courteous all day . He made sure we were looked after. The knowledge and history was fascinating and George’s passion for Cyprus was wonderful. Can’t fault this trip and the boat party at the end was the icing on the cake. Our guide was amazing and informative. We were driven to Famagusta first where we were shown some historical places and churches then shown the ghost town of Famagusta which was sad to see. It was a hot day but lots of places to buy drinks and ice cream. The next stop was to the boat. The food was amazing and the staff were there to help. I lovely lively boat with great music, dancing and energy. The best bit was being able to swim in the sea with the turtles.

You'll delve deeper along the forest nature tail, among old pines and strawberry trees, until reaching the showstopper – Caldonia Falls. The falls were named by a Scottish expedition in 1878, who were so wowed by how much it reminded them of home, they named it after Caledonia, the Roman name for Scotland. Afterwards, you'll head to Psilo Dendro, in Platres, for a well-deserved lunch. With its own trout farm, the fish here is as fresh as it gets – the perfect way to wrap up your mountain adventure.
