Enjoy an evening pickup free of charge from your accommodation in Luxor and head towards Luxor train station to get on the sleeping train. Drop off at Giza train station after an overnight journey and get welcomed by the representative of the local operator and your Egyptologist. Feel the atmosphere of Cairo City, as you head to Giza Pyramids, the last remaining wonder of the Ancient World.

Now, it is time to stretch your legs and enjoy a lunch buffet onboard a floating restaurant on the River Nile. After lunch, you’re in for a treat with the next stop at The Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, built in 1902. Its exceptional treasures include the mummies and the gilded mummy mask of Yuya and Thuya—found in the Valley of the Kings and remarkable for their extraordinary preservation and lifelike features. Wander past statues, artefacts, and relics that’ll give you the inside scoop into the daily life and religious practices of past civilizations from thousands of years ago.

Finally, drive back to the train station, take the sleeping train back to Luxor, and then to your hotel.

The adult entrance fee (12+ years) for the Cheops Great Pyramid is around EGP 1500 and EGP 750 for children under 12. The adult entrance fee (12+ years) for Mykerinos or Kefren is around EGP 280 and EGP 140 for children under 12. Payment is available only with credit cards

  • Update (valid starting 20 October 2025): The Hall of Tutankhamun at the Egyptian Museum (including the Golden Mask and Golden Sarcophagus) will be closed as the collection is being transferred to the new Grand Egyptian Museum. The Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, however, remains rich with exceptional treasures, including the mummies and the gilded mummy mask of Yuya and Thuya
  • This tour is available in shared and private options. The shared options are available in 2 price options: Option 1 is for a single train cabin and Option 2 is for a double train cabin price per cabin
  • This tour is available in shared and private options. The price of the private options is the price per person in the group. Single travellers who want the private option can choose the option (Private Tour). The 6-people private group is open to a maximum of 15 participants
  • Infants less than years old are free of charge
  • Tour duration and pickup time are simply guidelines subject to change due to operational conditions. Please expect around 36 hours for the complete tour
  • Train schedules are subject to change or delay for reasons beyond the local operator's control

Remember to bring:

  • Return sleeping train tickets are included in the price with dinner and breakfast on the train for each night journey. Please bring your water and drinks with you
  • Please wear comfortable outfits subject to weather conditions and walking shoes and please bring sunglasses, a camera and money for tipping and shopping, your credit card
  • Please keep your passport/ID with you during this tour
